It’s May, and that means we’re celebrating one of the most famous Mexican holidays in the United States – Cinco de Mayo! The holiday originated in Mexico following a victory against French forces in 1862. We gather for the holiday annually to enjoy the company of our friends, families, and loved ones (often eating tacos) in celebration of Mexican culture and heritage. This year is no different!
On May 5, 2016, Univision will host Cinco de Mayo at Six Bends featuring authentic food, drinks, and music from 5:00 to 9:00pm. Five local restaurants will compete to win a $1,000 cash prize and bragging rights for having the best Cinco de Mayo dish of the day. Enjoy tacos and other delectable offerings, then cast your vote for the most flavorful option.
If you eat and still have a taste for tacos (after all, who doesn’t?), join thousands of people in helping us break the world record for the longest line of tacos in the world! Participation is simple – just stand in a designated area, grab your taco, and wait for the official count. Then, once we’ve reached our goal of 2,100 tacos in a row, the hard shell delicacy is yours to eat! Don’t worry, no taco will be left behind. We’ll donate the rest to our amazing first responders in the area, including police, firefighters, and EMS workers.
Ready for a flavorful outing with your family and friends? Whether you’re all about soft shell or love a deep-fried flauta, meet us at Six Bends on Thus., May 5!
