A Look at the Lore of Six Bends and Insight into the Handlebars all over the Store
For most of you reading this you are at least remotely familiar with where the name “Six Bends” came from. You may have read our about page or watched our intro video. It’s more than a moniker. It’s a belief.
Six Bends is the name of a handle bar that originated in the ‘70s and paved the way for customization of handlebars, and other parts of motorcycles. Riding is about freedom and individuality. Six Bends personifies that at its very core, beginning with the name that refers to customized handlebars. We believe in making your bike, and your experience as unique as you.
So, to further support our belief we’ve installed handlebars all over the store. You may have seen them on the “field guide” poster and mounted (much like antlers) throughout the showroom. We did this because we want everyone, including you, to fully understand where we’re coming from and why we named the store and site Six Bends. Plus, these installations offer a little motorcycle history and education.
Each set of bars is mounted with its name (Ape Hanger, Drag Bar, etc.) and a little story about how they came to be. Our stories are fun and made up of part fact and part fiction. Check them out the next time your in the store and let us know which one is your favorite. Just don’t forget, the Six Bends bar started it all!
